The role
Orica Mining Services currently has multiple opportunities across Australia for safety and customer focused Blast Crew Managers to join our organisation. This role has a key focus on being the interface between the client and the Mining Services Group.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring your team are trained and comply with Orica Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Procedures and statutory regulations
- Management and Coordination of production & delivery activities
- Ensuring products are supplied to the customer in a timely & effective manner
- Providing strong, effective leadership and building a culture of employee empowerment, involvement and continuous improvement
- Assisting the Operations Superintendent with setting operator KPI's and communicating performance targets to the team
- Assisting with defining employee development needs and managing poor performance are also natural parts of this management position.
This role is on-site with the client so you’ll also be developing positive working relationships and ensuring site compliance to Orica Mining Services’ and our customer quality expectations.
About you
You’re a proven leader with strong supervisory and people management experience. We’d like you to have had exposure to the mining industry but we acknowledge that your skills may have come from a different sector. Underground charge up experience will also be highly regarded. Most importantly though is your ability to clearly communicate, lead a team and balance competing priorities will ensure your success.
